Technip Energies Secures Two Five-Year LTAs from Aramco

Technip Energies has secured two five-year LTAs from Aramco, spanning FEED, PMC and EPC services for onshore brownfield modifications and upgrades.

Technip Energies has been awarded two five-year long-term agreements (LTAs) by Aramco, covering front-end engineering, project management consultancy and EPC services for brownfield modifications and upgrades at onshore facilities. The parties did not disclose the value of the agreements.

The first LTA covers front-end engineering design (FEED) and coordinating project management consultancy (PMC) services for energy, downstream, petrochemical and low-carbon projects. The second covers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for brownfield modifications and upgrades to Aramco’s onshore facilities.

From early-phase development to brownfield EPC

The two agreements address distinct points in the project lifecycle. The first is directed at early-stage project development and project-management support, while the second covers modification, expansion and upgrade work across Aramco’s existing onshore asset base.

Unlike a single-project award, an LTA establishes a commercial framework and a route for subsequent work-package releases; it does not represent a fixed five-year contract value. Specific awards will depend on Aramco’s future project requirements and procurement decisions.

Extending a long-standing Saudi Arabia presence

Technip Energies has a long record of work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia. In January 2023, the company announced an award under an earlier long-term agreement to upgrade sulfur-recovery facilities at the Riyadh Refinery. The scope included three new tail-gas treatment units to raise the sulfur-recovery efficiency of the existing units to more than 99.9%.

Later that year, Technip Energies was selected by Aramco to provide PMC services for the master plan of the new industrial city at Ras Al Khair, including studies related to the Liquids-to-Chemicals programme.

Technip Energies has operated in Saudi Arabia since the 1970s. The new five-year LTAs expand its potential Aramco work scope from front-end engineering and project-management services into the execution of onshore brownfield EPC work.
