Industry First as P-80 and P-82 FPSOs Sail 18 Days Apart
Petrobras' P-80 and P-82 FPSOs have left Singapore 18 days apart for the Búzios field, moving two large EPC projects from yard construction into offshore deployment.

Petrobras’ P-80 and P-82 floating production, storage and offloading units have departed Singapore in succession for the Búzios field in the pre-salt Santos Basin offshore Brazil.
P-80 left Seatrium’s Tuas Boulevard Yard on 30 September, followed by P-82 on 18 October. The two large FPSOs began their delivery voyages just 18 days apart.
P-80 and P-82 will serve as the ninth and tenth production systems at Búzios. Each unit is 345.3 metres long and 60 metres wide, weighs more than 100,000 tonnes, and is designed to produce 225,000 barrels of oil and process 12 million cubic metres of gas per day. Both are scheduled to enter production in 2027.
Together, the two FPSOs will add 450,000 barrels per day of nominal oil-production capacity to Búzios. Seatrium says this is equivalent to approximately 34% of the field’s current installed capacity. Petrobras expects Búzios to have 11 production platforms by the end of 2027.
Seatrium described the back-to-back sailaways of two FPSOs of the same class within such a short period as an industry first. The significance goes beyond two vessels leaving the yard: two large EPC projects completed integration and commissioning at almost the same time and moved into their delivery phase, illustrating the shift from one-off FPSO construction towards repeat and batch delivery.
The sailaways mark the end of yard construction and integration and the beginning of deployment offshore Brazil. As P-80, P-82 and subsequently P-83 enter operation, Petrobras’ latest expansion of high-capacity production systems at Búzios will move into a concentrated delivery phase.
