Project Overview
Búzios is a major ultra-deepwater pre-salt field in Brazil’s Santos Basin, approximately 180 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, with Petrobras as operator. Interests in the shared Búzios/Tambuatá reservoir are Petrobras 88.99%, CNOOC Petroleum Brasil 7.34% and CNODC Brasil 3.67%.
The development comprises 12 planned FPSO systems. P-74 through P-77, Almirante Barroso, P-78, Almirante Tamandaré and P-79 are in production. P-80, P-82 and P-83 are under construction for planned installation in 2027, while Búzios 12 (P-91) is being tendered under a BOT model. The field reached average oil production of 1.2 million barrels per day on 26 June 2026.
