Payara

The third offshore oil development in the Stabroek Block

In production

Project Overview

Payara is the third offshore development in the Stabroek Block and is operated by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited. Stabroek interests are ExxonMobil Guyana 45%, Hess Guyana 30% and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana 25%. The development achieved first oil through the Prosperity FPSO on 14 November 2023.

FPSO and Local Execution

Prosperity uses the newbuild Fast4Ward MPF 3 hull and has design oil-processing capacity of 220,000 barrels per day and storage of approximately 2 million barrels. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding built the hull, Dyna-Mac fabricated the main topsides modules, and Keppel fabricated riser and mooring structures and integrated the modules. Saipem completed subsea EPCI and fabricated 48 rigid jumpers in Georgetown. ExxonMobil Guyana acquired the FPSO in November 2024, and SBM Offshore continues O&M through 2033.

Key Milestones
